 The Power of Meaningful Connections

May 6, 2026 | Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum

Strong connections help older adults thrive and that spirit was at the heart of our second annual Ride & Thrive event at the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum. More than 150 guests joined us for an inspiring and celebratory morning focused on the power of meaningful connections and the partnerships that make independence possible for older adults in our community. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and attendees, we were also proud to achieve our fundraising goal in support of Senior Transportation Connection’s mission.

Guests were inspired by an address from New York Times bestselling author Regina Brett, who spoke about the profound impact of connection, compassion, and community in our lives. We were also honored to present the Lois K. Goodman Service Award to Jim Campbell, M.D., in recognition of his commitment to helping older adults thrive. Cleveland Clinic geriatrician Ronan Factora, M.D., shared insights on the serious effects of isolation and loneliness among seniors and the importance of ensuring older adults remain connected to care, services, and one another.

The morning concluded with a thoughtful panel discussion highlighting how trusted community resources reduce isolation and empower older adults to live safely, confidently, and independently. Panelists included Dabney Conwell of Benjamin Rose, Sheryl Harris of the Cuyahoga County Department of Consumer Affairs, Barbara Barreno-Paschall of The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, and Laura Kleinman of Senior Transportation Connection.
